RWIS is a road-installed system to provide reliable road and weather conditions to people on road for safer driving. The system can be divided into two big parts: hardware and software. Hardware, composed of ESS, RPU, and a data server, observes ground meteorological conditions, visibility range and road conditions. Subsequently, the acquired data from ESS are processed in RPU and transmitted to the data server.

Through Kweather`s RWIS, accurate predictions and real-time data of road frost, heavy snow, rainfalls, heavy fogs, high winds, and other weather conditions can be provided to reduce road accidents.
